conpal GmbH and Cefiros have agreed on a partnership under which the Madrid-based company will act as a value-added distributor (VAD) for conpal in Spain, Portugal and Latin America. Cefiros was founded by long-time experts in the cybersecurity industry and sees itself as a link between customer, integrator and manufacturer.

An initial focus of the collaboration will be to replace Sophos Safeguard File Encryption among users looking for a technically related, high-performance alternative. Sophos had announced the end-of-life of the encryption solution in July 2023 and recommended conpal LAN Crypt as a replacement. The common technical basis of the two solutions allows existing keys to continue to be used during migration, eliminating the need to decrypt and re-encrypt the file inventory.
